This elegant outfit is created from a dress sourced from a charity shop, a black lace skirt, tulle underskirt, beads from an old curtain and six unwanted umbrellas. Inspired by 1950s fashion, the group created their look by adding different elements to the base dress.

The cap lace sleeves were made from lace harvested from a skirt and attached at the shoulder to the straps of the dress.
A short train was created at the back of the dress by attaching a doubled over tulle petticoat. The use of umbrellas and large crystal cut beads creates the statement design feature of this outfit.
Whole umbrellas are attached at the top point to the dress creating a beautiful style line as well as adding movement to the sleek underdress. The placement of the beads is bold and tasteful.
The dress is accompanied by a feathered capelet which the group made by opening and rehemming a skirt found in a charity shop.

The group researched teflon which is used to coat umbrellas to make them waterproof. Unfortunately this process releases forever chemicals during production and disposal.
