Edie sourced both items she used to create her outfit from local charity shops. The white tablecloth used to create the godets in the skirt came from her grandfather’s house. Inspired by the upcycling possibilities within the pieces that she sourced and also by Dua Lipa’s white dress designed by Jaquemus, Edie decided to turn the bottom of the white dress into a top.

Edie cleverly kept the length of the string in the channels to use as the straps of the top. These tie at the back of the neck creating a halterneck, echoing the neckline of the Dua Lipa dress.
Edie altered the side seams of top, taking it in to fit her size and inserted an invisible zip harvested from the top of the original dress.
The curved shaping on the bottom hemline gives the top an interesting style line. The skirt started out as a bubble skirt. Edie took out the elastic on the bottom hem and added four lace godets before rehemming it.
She also added a strip of lace to the waistband of the skirt which ties in a bow at the back as a cute design feature.
