This group wanted to make a sustainable outfit from an often unsustainable product - jeans!
They sourced three pairs of jeans from at home and their local charity shop, opting for larger sizes to have more fabric to work with. They removed the pockets from one pair, saving the thread for later. The pockets become the front of the top, with fabric from the leg of the jeans used to make the gathered frill at the bottom.
A zip from one pair of the jeans was reused at the back of the top. The group also altered the waistband by taking it in to fit their model.
The saved thread was used to decorate the outfit with star embroidery, and leftover denim was also used for decorative stars.
This entire outfit was handsewn and includes a cute hat and legwarmers as accessories, which have also been created with leftover fabric from the jeans.
