  • This group received some donated materials from their teacher and also gathered more from their homes and local charity shops including a long sleeved t-shirt, jeans, shoes, boots, belts, trampoline guard net and scrap metal.

They drew inspiration from the underground rap scene and culture with specific influences from designers/brands/artists like Edward Skeletrix, Syckli, GROWinPAYN, Skaiwater, Ksuuvi, if6was9, Carol Christian Poell, Ann Demeulemeester and Rick Owen.

  • This group began by making alterations to their jeans - removing the inseam from each leg and inserting panels to create a flared shape.

They used different techniques to distress the denim all over and patched some of the holes with visible machine and hand stitching. They also removed the buttons from the fly and created more buttonholes so the front could be laced with cord.

When they were happy with the construction of their jeans they dyed them this striking yellow color and added the harvested inseam as a belt detail.

  • They bleached the blue/white long sleeved top and used salvaged trampoline guard netting to add texture. They also decided to dye the top using a natural/eco friendly method with rusting screws - which have left interesting details throughout the top.

The cotton fabric was also distressed to match the jeans and some embroidery details (blanket stitch) and buttons were added around the shoulder and cuff of the sleeves.

The group also decided to add a structural feature to the top, adding knee pads as shoulder pads under the t-shirt.

  • The bag was created by using left over denim and netting material and features preloved belts as a strap.

Any scrap netting was added to embellish the distressed shoes.

The outfit is also styled with original jewellery, made from scrap metal.

This group developed their idea and name for their outfit around the influx of low quality consumer goods and media, including the rise of fast fashion and wanted to showcase their innovative ‘anti-fashion’ approach through creativity and experimental techniques.
