Our young designer Sarah used preloved denim from her local charity shop and wool donated by her sewing teacher to create this upcycled look. 

She knitted the top in sections, using finer needles for the upper part to ensure it wasn’t see-through, and finished it with a bow made from a found shoelace. 

The skirt started as denim shorts, transformed with layered knitted panels. A matching bag echoes the design, with a denim top, knitted base, and colourful handles. 

Styled with knitted leg warmers and a denim shoulder piece, the colour palette ties the upcycled piece together beautifully.
