Lauren Bannon

This upcycled dress began life as a bridesmaid dress 30 years ago, sewn by our young designer's granny for her daughter.

The style of the dress was dated so our young designer Lauren decided to take it apart and give it a new lease of life.

She started by detaching the bodice from the skirt, and playing around with different styles. Lauren decided to go with a long skirt with a waistband, side split and pleating details, and turned the bodice back to front to create the top.

Lauren altered the neckline of the top and also added darts to create the shape she wanted. All the raw edges have been hemmed and Lauren even embroidered her initials onto the inside of each piece. The outfit is finished with a gorgeous statement bow on the skirt.
