This princess-inspired look began with two dresses, gifted to our young designer Katelyn during her work experience at a charity shop. 

Inspired by the film Barbie: Princess and the Pauper, Katelyn deconstructed a white floral dress - reshaping the bodice and using leftover fabric to add fullness to the skirt and create a new panel along the hem. 

She even made secret pockets, cleverly hidden within the skirt, using the original dress fabric. The overlayer started as another dress - Katelyn removed the zip, cut open the front, shaped it into a curved waistcoat, hemmed the raw edges, and finished the outfit with the original tie belt.
