This outfit was created from bedsheets and curtains gathered from home and charity shops. The crinoline under the skirts was made by covering hoops of garden wire with fabric.
The outfit was inspired by the historical repression of women through the restrictive corsets and crinolines.

The group made the pattern for the corset themselves, making the base from cream bedsheets.
They used different draping techniques to cover and create shaping and design features for the corset, pleating and gathering different fabrics to achieve the desired look.
They added puffed sleeve detail and an intricate lacing at the back of the corset using salvaged ribbon.
The dramatic skirt of this outfit consists of three separate pieces, the underskirt included gathered layers to give extra volume.
The wine overskirt features eyelets and lacing at the front and the top overskirt were created using different and pleating and gathering techniques.
The outfit is completed with headpiece and heels customised with garden wire.

The group researched polyester production highlighting the amount of microplastic released with every wash.
