This amazing outfit was created from a preloved bedsheet from a charity shop, a torn white sheet from home, a zip from our young designer's mum’s old dress, and a donated blouse from her aunt.
The designer took inspiration from TY ball gowns to create this gorgeous upcycled piece.
After deconstructing the blouse to make a toile for the top of her dress, she hand-pleated and stitched the final pieces from the pink fabric, adding the original blouse buttons for detail.
The skirt was made in the same way: using a white bedsheet to create a pattern, transferring that pattern to paper, and then cutting out the final fabric and finishing with a gorgeous gathered ruffle.
Accordion-folded off-shoulder sleeves and beautiful finishing touches like bias binding and a rolled hem complete the look.
