After searching for inspiration online, this group of young designers decided to upcycle preloved ties. 

They collected unwanted clothing from their own wardrobes, and asked friends and family for donations. They also visited local charity shops to collect ties and pearls. 

The top was made by cutting a white t-shirt below the sleeves and creating a gathering at the front, embellished with pearls. 

The skirt was made by deconstructing ties, cutting and sewing them back together, with the pointed ends all facing down along the bottom. 

The outfit is completed with a preloved hairband, customised with leftover fabric from the ties and a denim belt, made from the waistband of a pair of jeans.
